Flora and a sister lived under an old house in Palo Alto, but when their momma cat disappeared, a tenant called for help. Despite her wild childhood, Flora has given herself over to the ways of humans, and has become quite a people-oriented cat. She goes limp with happiness and fills the room with purrs when you pick her up or pet her. Flora is not shy about telling you what she likes; she will give gentle head butts on your hand or arm if she thinks she isn't getting enough petting! She will stay in your arms or lap forever, and simply loves to cuddle. Several people have commented that this relaxed behavior is similar to that of Ragdoll cats. Flora will even tolerate people who put silly headgear on her! After living in the dirt under a building, she thinks playing dress-up is great fun!
Playtime has some funny quirks, too. Flora prefers to play with the stick end of feather toys, rather than the feather itself, and she alternately cuddles with and drowns her tiny toy mouse. When she is not wearing that floral hair scrunchy, Flora finds it a fun toy to toss around. And she loves a big scratching post and a perch to keep a close eye on the squirrels and birds that hang around outside her windows.
The Fine Print — While Community Cat Rescue would love to make our adoptable cats and kittens available to everyone, everywhere, we must limit our adoption service area to San Francisco Peninsula cities and towns. We simply do not have the volunteer-power or financial resources to make home visits (required for all adoptions), delivery of adopted cats/kittens and follow-up visits outside the Peninsula. An occasional, rare exception might be made, but it is not the rule.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Adoption fees are only $15 per kitten or cat through January 5, 2016.
