Sunny has a lovely medium-length orange tabby coat, plumed tail, tufted ears, and good-sized paws, all of which could indicate some Maine Coon blood in his background. Even his gentle, mellow temperament is reminiscent of the Maine Coon breed. He is a sweetheart, and the picture of good health, despite his humble beginnings.
Born to a feral mom in a noisy, dirty auto salvage yard on the mid-Peninsula, Sunny came from a litter of four. We took these kittens in despite their being a little older than we usually prefer, because they were all so easy to handle. We wanted to see the whole litter find loving, safe homes, and they all turned out to have sweet, playful dispositions, even though they started out being cautious, quiet, and guarded with their fosterers. None of these kittens has ever done anything more overt than hiss...and, Sunny, has never even done that: not once, not one hiss, not ever.
Sunny has adjusted to interacting with people, and he clearly enjoys it. He always displays his sunny disposition. Once he gets to know you, he follows you around or lies at your feet, enjoys being stroked, has a fondness for small rattle balls (ping-pong balls are aces!) and toy mice, and loves feather wands. He tolerates and enjoys watching the antics of the spirited tortie girl sharing the room with him, but maintains his gentlemanly demeanor, even when she bugs him to, 'Chase me, chase me!' And when she chews on his head or gives him a forced grooming, he takes it all in stride, with typical 'Sunny' good humor.
Sunny would love to become your home and lap companion, maybe with his foster-roommate, Karita, or with your mellow, playful kitty.
The Fine Print — While Community Cat Rescue would love to make our adoptable cats and kittens available to everyone, everywhere, we must limit our adoption service area to San Francisco Peninsula cities and towns. We simply do not have the volunteer-power or financial resources to make home visits (required for all adoptions), delivery of adopted cats/kittens and follow-up visits outside the Peninsula. An occasional, rare exception might be made, but it is not the rule.
BLACK KITTEN ADOPTION SPECIAL!
Did you know black kittens have the hardest time finding homes, despite their wonderful personalities? So give them a look, because adoption fees for solid black kittens are only $25, and black and white kittens are only $50. All kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped with lifetime registration, tested for FIV/FeLV, and vaccinated too.
THE FINE PRINT – Adoptions limited to Peninsula locations. Exceptions possible.
