George is a BIG, handsome cat who really wants a home of his own, after some hard times on the streets. Being a middle-aged fellow, George has already learned to appreciate all you do for him, and has some endearing characteristics: he won't jump on your counters, he faithfully uses his stratching post, he has meticulous litter box habits, can wear a harness...and more.
George was first noticed trying to find his way into someone's home, after he was dumped in a trailer park. The big boy wanted food, and tried desperately to get inside to get some!
Despite his life on the streets after being abandoned, George has some truly endearing qualities. He is currently fostered by a kind lady in Daly City, who simply cannot keep him permanently. Like many rescuers, she already has too many cats. Here is what his rescuer says about George:
'He comes when I call his name, and tell him to 'come'. He is vocal, and friendly to all people, even strangers. He likes playing with hanging toys (the kind you hang from a door). He bats them around, playing by himself several times a day. He also likes toy mice and small plastic balls, etc. He uses his litterbox well, and uses a cardboard scratching pad. He is a great indoor cat, and does not seem to mind being indoors, and not out. He doesn't try to jump up on counters or tables. He just wants to be up on the chair or couch if he can sit with you, or be on your lap. He likes looking out the window, and lying in the sun by the window.'
George has been neutered, vaccinated, and has tested negative for FIV/FELV. If you have any questions, or are interested in visiting and interacting with George in his foster home, we will put you in touch with his fosterer to make arrangements.
