Born in a trap, along with her five siblings, Ruby had an interesting start in life. Nursed by mom cat in foster care from birth until weaned, the entire litter turned out to have the most friendly, mellow, but playful and mischievous personalities and temperaments...and Ruby is no exception. She is simply a doll, though a Tomboy at heart, even more so with her catcher's-mitt-size paws: Ruby is polydactyl (extra toes both front and rear). All the better to bat at her toys and to give you hugs and pet your face!

Given the litter's eye color (Siamese-blue, greenish, hazel), their face shape, ear set, ear size, and svelt bodies with long tails, there must be some strong Siamese ancestry behind Ruby and sibs, though it certainly did not come through in her mom's appearance (pictured below nursing the litter).

Spayed, tested, microchipped, and finished with her 3-shot kitten series of FVRCP vaccinations, Ruby is ready to join your household as an only kitty, as long as someone is around to give her lots of affection and attention while she is still growing up. She has lived with small dogs while being fostered, and could make a great companion for your resident pooch or still-playful young adult kitty. Ruby did test positive for FIV, but we hope that it is a false positive, or might be because she still had  antibodies from her mother and that her test might clear to negative in another few months. The rest of her litter all tested negative, so we hope her results were a false positive.
