Domestic Short Hair
Brown Mackerel/Spotted Tabby

Feeders at a managed homeless cat colony alerted a trapper that a very pregnant-looking female had joined the colony. The trapper had no trouble luring the cat into a trap baited with tasty tuna, as the kitty must have been very hungry carrying a heavy load of kittens. Next morning, while the trapper was driving the successfully trapped cat to a vet clinic for a checkup, she heard mewing from the back of the car. Sure enough, when she arrived at the vet's and removed the cover on the trap, there were six teeny newborn kittens. After a quick health check, the trapper returned home with the mom and kittens, set them all up in a large, comfy cage, and fostered them until we had room in our fostering program. She did a great job of socializing the babes, despite the mom-cat...while very pretty and loving to the kittens...being feral, unfriendly and understandably protective of her young family.

Tiger Boy, a handsome spotted tabby, has been paired with blue-eyed sister Saphire, and they have a really great relationship. Both are very friendly, playful, and loving. They are ready to move to their forever home. The kittens have been spayed/neutered, tested, microchipped, and vaccinated, and have been treated for fleas and worms.

Given the various kittens' eye color (one Siamese-blue, some green, one blue-hazel), and their face shape, ear set, ear size, and svelte bodies with long tails, there must be some strong Siamese ancestry behind these kittens. It certainly did not come through in their mom (pictured below nursing the litter), but she may have had a parent of Siamese heritage and/or so must the kittens' dad.

This entire litter of two boys and four girls is simply charming: friendly, mellow, playful, and people-oriented, all thanks to their rescuer's great socializing and early care. They are also all somewhat exotic looking, but are Tomboys at heart. As an added bonus, two of them--Tiger Boy and Ruby--are polydactyl (extra toes!).

We hope that these kittens will find homes in pairs, though perhaps some can be adopted singly if they will be joining your kitten of similar age and temperament, a still-playful, young-adult kitty, or a cat-friendly dog. Ruby was fostered for a few weeks with a terrier pup and they got along famously.
