Marty has been adopted!

Marty w/RS (CCR #1494)
Male
Domestic Short Hair
Tuxedo, Black & White with white nose snip

Marty was trapped and removed with a few other juvenile kitties from an inhospitable mid-Peninsula open space. While observing Marty making his way to the food in the trap, the trapper noticed that his gait was not normal, that he was kind of limping on his hind legs. Upon examination by vets, a diagnosis is not conclusive, but the feeling is that Marty may have been injured while a tiny kitten, that he may have suffered an ailment that left him with a permanent abnormality in his hindquarters, or that he may have a congenital deformity that does not allow proper gait in his rear legs. There was no question of putting Marty back where he was trapped, as he would not be able to run or dash up a tree to escape a predator.

But Marty is none the wiser, and gets around really well, though sometimes if he turns quickly he might flop over on his hind leg opposite the direction of the turn. But he is up in a flash, and on with his explorations. Marty is in a foster situation where he has room to walk around, and he has improved a lot on those back legs. He likely will never be completely sound in the rear, though time will tell. Marty has no problem getting in and out of the litter box, and is now able to jump onto his fosterers bed, where before he used a ramp to walk up onto it.

This kitten is one of the sweetest, most gentle, people-friendly kitties you might ever meet. If you adopt him, you likely will not have to worry about him jumping onto your kitchen counter or dining table. Marty plays with small toys and danglies, but just loves hanging out with you, or being in a lap being petted, and purring his stalwart little heart out. Marty must be adopted as an indoor-only cat, and would love a place where someone is home part of the day or works at home, as he does love the company of people. Marty is paired with Midnight, a gorgeous, sleek, short-haired black male, and they are good buddies. Midnight seems to watch out for Marty, like a big brother, so it would be great for them to be adopted together. In fact, Midnight may be Marty's litter brother, or at least a cousin, as they were trapped from the same homeless cat group.

Neutered, tested, microchipped, FVRCP and rabies vaccinated, and treated for fleas and worms.
